• What is a Memorial Diamond?

  A Memorial Diamond is a lab-grown diamond created from the carbon in your loved one’s hair or ashes. Using the same high-temperature, high-pressure conditions in which natural diamonds form, we craft a stone that matches natural diamonds in appearance, durability, and brilliance—yet carries a story no other gem can.

• What materials can be used?

  We can create your diamond from a variety of carbon-rich sources, including:
  Human hair

  ・Cremated remains of pets (dogs, cats, etc.)
  ・Pet fur collected from brushing
  ・Nails or whiskers (with supplemental carbon if needed)
  ・Cremated ashes (only a portion is sufficient, since supplemental carbon is used)

• How long does it take?

  ・Loose diamond (without setting): approx. 3 months
  ・Jewelry setting: add about 1 month
  ・Third-party certification: add about 1 month

  Exact timelines are provided at the time of order or quotation.

• How do I know it’s really from my material?

  Yes, your diamond is made from the carbon extracted from your provided material.
  Although there is no direct scientific method (such as DNA testing) to prove origin after formation, MEMODIA JAPAN ensures strict traceability:
  Unique Identification Number: Every sample is assigned a serial number and tracked through the entire process, eliminating mix-ups.
  Certificates & Process Records: Upon completion, we issue a certificate and process album. Third-party certification (e.g., Central Gem Laboratory) is also available upon request.

• Can I cancel my order?

  Because each diamond is highly personalized, cancellations are generally not possible once production has begun.
  If your order is placed through an agency, please confirm their cancellation policies directly.
